OREO Jack-o'-Lanterns

Looking for family night activities in the fall, but don't have time for a lot of work? Family carving night just takes toothpicks and a package of OREO Cookies.

Prep time:

0 min

Total time:

0 min

Servings:

Makes 2 servings, 2 cookies each.

Ingredient list

  • 4 Boo OREO Cookies

Directions

1

Twist the top and bottom halves of each cookie in opposite directions to separate the cookie halves, leaving all the creme on one half of each cookie.

2

Carve the creme into a pumpkin shape as shown in photo, using a small metal spatula, toothpick or wooden skewer. Then, use a toothpick to draw jack-o'-lantern faces in the pumpkins, carefully removing and discarding any excess creme.

Recipe Tips

  • Hints on Twisting the Cookie Halves Apart

Twist the cookies apart gently in a back-and-forth motion to release one cookie half from the creme.  Or, you can use a small metal spatula to scrape the creme close to one half of the cookie.  Any creme remaining on the plain cookie halves can be spread onto the creme-topped cookie halves.  If desired, you can scrape off and discard any creme smudges with the spatula, skewer or toothpick.

  • Make it Your Own

Have fun "carving" your jack-o'-lanterns!  Make an upside-down triangle nose, a spooky round mouth or a zig-zagged toothy smile.  Each jack-o'-lantern is as different as the carver.  Add a small piece of green gumdrop or green sprinkles to the stem.  Or, use a toothpick to lightly score the pumpkins' ridges.
