These cookies are perfect when you want an easy but fun kitchen experience! Combine store bought peanut butter cookies with caramels and pretzels for no bake treats.
Separate cookies, leaving creme filling on one half of each separated cookie. Place plain cookie halves in single layer on parchment-covered baking sheet. Set creme-topped cookie halves aside.
2
Microwave 1 caramel on small microwaveable plate on HIGH 20 to 25 sec. or just until softened. (Do not microwave until caramel starts to melt.) Carefully remove caramel from plate. Flatten to match shape of cookie, then place on 1 cookie half on baking sheet. Immediately top with 2 pretzels and 1 creme-topped cookie half, creme side down, to make sandwich; press top cookie half into filling to secure.
3
Repeat, one at a time, with remaining caramels, cookies and pretzels.
4
Dip half of each cookie sandwich into melted chocolate; gently shake off excess chocolate. Return cookie to baking sheet; top with sprinkles.
5
Refrigerate 10 min. or until chocolate is firm.
Recipe Tips
Important NoteBe sure to not overheat the caramels when softening them in the microwave. They should be microwaved just enough for you to be able to easily flatten them, but not so long that they're hot enough to burn your hands. If desired, you can wear disposable plastic gloves to help protect your hands when flattening the caramels. The handling of the warm caramels should only be done by an adult. If working with children, have them help by separating the cookies, dipping the cookie sandwiches into the chocolate or adding the sprinkles.
Special ExtraGarnish with multi-colored sprinkles in the colors of your favorite sports team.
SubstituteSubstitute 1/4 cup finely chopped peanuts for the sprinkles.
