Ingredient list

70 WHEAT THINS Original Snacks (about 2 cups)
1 cup sugar
½ cup honey
¼ tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
1 Tbsp. butter
1½ tsp. baking soda
½ cup lightly salted mixed nuts, chopped

Directions

Line 15x10x1-inch baking pan with foil; spray with cooking spray.

Place WHEAT THINS in 10 rows of 7 WHEAT THINS each on bottom of prepared baking pan.

Mix sugar, honey and red pepper in 2-qt. microwaveable measuring cup or bowl. Microwave on HIGH 4 min. (Syrup should be boiling.)

Add butter; stir until melted. Microwave 1 to 2 min. or until syrup is golden brown. Carefully remove syrup from microwave.

Add baking soda; stir just until blended. (Caution: Syrup will foam and bubble up.) Pour evenly over WHEAT THINS, being careful to completely coverall WHEAT THINS.

Sprinkle with nuts; cool completely.

Break brittle into small pieces to serve.

Recipe Tips

Important Note
After adding the baking soda, stir the ingredients just enough to blend the ingredients. Overstirring will cause the syrup to lose its light honeycomb texture resulting in a hard, dense brittle.
How to Store
Store cooled brittle in tightly covered container at room temperature up to 1 week before serving.
Special Extra
Prepare brittle as directed omitting nuts; cool completely. Melt 1 pkg. (4 oz.) semi-sweet baking chocolate as directed on package; pour over brittle. Spread to evenly cover brittle with chocolate. Top with 1 Tbsp. sprinkles in the colors of your favorite sports team. Let stand 20 min. or until chocolate is firm. Break brittle into small pieces to serve.
