Makes 12 servings, 2 cookie balls each.
Mix peanut butter and cookie crumbs until blended; shape into 24 (1-inch) footballs. Place on wax paper-covered baking sheet.
Freeze 10 min.
Dip bottom half of each football, 1 at a time, into melted chocolate. Return, dipped sides down, to baking sheet.
Drizzle with remaining melted chocolate to resemble laces on footballs.
Refrigerate until melted chocolate is firm.
These fun NUTTER BUTTER Buckeye Footballs can be stored in airtight container at room temperature up to 2 days before serving. For longer storage, refrigerate up to 1 week; remove from refrigerator to bring to room temperature 30 min. before serving for best flavor and texture. Buckeye Footballs can be frozen for up to 1 month; defrost in refrigerator overnight.
After shaped footballs are placed on baking sheet, insert toothpick into top of each football before freezing. Use toothpick as a handle for dipping football into melted chocolate. Return dipped footballs to baking sheet and allow to stand a few minutes to thaw, then gently remove toothpick before decorating with chocolate laces.
