Recipe Tips
How to Make Cheesy GritsBring 1 cup water to boil in medium saucepan. Stir in 1/4 cup quick-cooking grits and 1/2 tsp. kosher salt; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 8 to 10 min. or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add 3/4 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese and 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives; stir until cheese is completely melted and mixture is well blended. This recipe makes 1 cup - twice what's needed to prepare the Shrimp & Cheesy Grits Topper recipe. Cool remaining cheesy grits, then refrigerate up to 2 days before reheating to use as desired.
